This piece of artwork is inspired by the Greek Myth, Persephone. Persophone was taken to the underworld by Hades. While she was gone nothing would grow putting the world in a wintery state. Her Mother mourned her loss and begged Hades to return her, Hades agreed to return her but he gave Persephone a Pomegranate, she ate some of the pomegranate and because of this he had hold of her for half the year, giving us the seasons Winter and Summer.

One Pomegranate is overflowing, signifying abundance and Summer, while the other is smashed against the wall and lies lifeless on the floor, signifying destruction, death and decay. This piece considers cycles, Life, Death and Rebirth.
